Chia-Wen Chen

Chia-Wen Joined us in mid-2023 as a Psychometrician with in-depth expertise in psychometrics and statistics to analyse psychological and educational data and generate comprehensive technique reports for clients to establish knowledge about the behavioural characteristics of their target participants. Chia-Wen has cross-cultural academic working experience in Norway, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. His responsibilities include the creation of suitable test items, data analysis, development of psychometric and statistical algorithms, and technical report production.

Chia-Wen maintains the quality of test items and updates the item bank of large-scale assessments administered through an online computerised adaptive testing system. He published academic articles about statistics modelling for personality tests with ranking items, computerised-adaptive testing, student evaluation of teaching, and processing data analysis in large-scale assessments. He is developing new studies about item selection criteria and converting machine learning into latent variable models, the results of which could support clients’ decision-making in test designs. Chia-Wen also provides training sessions in psychometric and quantitative techniques for online delivery.
